FOR THE LOVE OF LEADERSHIP ARCHIVE
Friendly Reminder - Your Leadership Matters
I’ve spent most of my work week conducting employee engagement interviews for an organization that I work closely with.
These conversations have provided great insights into what shapes our work experiences—both the big and small things that lead to either engagement or friction—and what truly builds a strong and supportive culture.
One thing they really reinforced: Leadership matters most.
Or, as I prefer to say, how we human together at work, matters most.
If you’ve been around here for a while, you know - I don’t reserve the term “leader” for people with formal roles and titles.
To me, leadership is about:
✨ How we interact with each other throughout the day, bringing care and connection to our work.
✨ How we manage our time, energy, emotions, and expertise to create the best outcomes for ourselves, our teams, and our organizations.
✨ How we hold ourselves and others accountable for our responsibilities and our communication.
✨ What we prioritize, how we make decisions, and our ability to consider the impact on others.
If you’re reading this, my guess is that you’re committed to fostering a positive environment for yourself and others - whether you’re leading a team, serving clients, or engaging in your community.
The best leaders are often the ones who remain most engaged with leadership development theories and practices, and are always open to insights and opportunities for improvement.
So, thank you.
This is your friendly reminder that it really does matter.
Much love,
Laura
